In May 2015, I was desperate to run away from London, looking for clarity of mind, tranquility and some time alone. Connecting with nature gives me exactly that. Being able to remain silent and appreciate the majestic beauty of the world that surrounds me. I was searching for a place where you can experience the ultimate simplicity of being.
"Where the grass is greener and the air is fresher and the sky seems clearer and the time flies slower
and the life seems simpler – it's a nice place to be"
- Patrycja Skurzak
I go there to reconnect with the real meaning of life. I find there peace, serenity, simplicity, freedom and safety. Away from everyday distractions, morning rushes, angry looks and that never ending chase for the deceived happiness. I go to that place to get off the track, step off the race, breath deeper, walk slower, look around and feel alive. Matt Simons in his song Catch & Release couldn't better portray what that place is to me. A place where no one knows me, free of judgments and opinions, a place where I don't feel lonely, it's a place where I find out what I’m made of – a place where I reconnect with my inner self. It’s a place where I stay up counting stars and fighting sleeps, embracing my freedom. To me, it’s a place where I’m truly happy.
Let me ask you a question, may I?
Have you ever pondered on the meaning of your own life? Have you ever been asked this question: “what is it that you want in life?” and you couldn’t give an honest answer? It’s ok. We’ve all been there. Now, what we haven’t done and what we are simply NOT doing is looking for the answer within us. Tell me honestly, have you looked for it there? Have you explored yourself enough? How do YOU actually find your calling, your meaning, your passion, your purpose? Do you ask others or you ask yourself? Just think. All I want to say is that I know a place where you can start a different search – search for yourself in yourself, with yourself.
My last escape inspired me to share this habit with everyone who feels stuck, tired, out of time, confused, fed up and all of the other similar things that we repeat on a daily basis. Right? Now, here is a 1 million $ question: what are the main two things people constantly repeat in London? - I’m too busy and I’m too tired. True or false? There you go.
What is Coaching Escape: "In Search Of me"?
It is an exclusive coaching retreat that focuses on human development and growth. The Coaching Escape has been skilfully designed to provide you with the perfect space & environment where you can tap into your full potential, find clarity of mind, revisit your sense of purpose and direction in your personal as well as professional life and most importantly, connect with the truest version of yourself.
The Coaching Escape runs once a month in the Royal Landscape in Surrey and it is based on four key pillars: tailored personal coaching, specialised self-development workshops & group exercises, physical activities (yoga, cycling, walks, swimming), mindfulness in nature (silent walks).
Away from everyday distractions, morning rushes & angry looks, we take you to a place where you can connect with nature, reflect on what is really important to you in life, take time to think, feel & connect. We take you there to get off the track, step off the race, breath deeper, walk slower, look around and feel alive.
What's the escape plan?
We tend to leave London on Saturday at 7:45am from Clapham Junction to arrive in Egham, Surrey just before 9am. We then take a taxi to Savill Court, go for a morning coffee and get ready for a nice bike ride/ walk exploring the Royal Landscape!
Depending on the weather we can organise a picnic on the hill, overlooking the beautiful lakes, dance in the rain, do yoga or an aerobic class, go separate ways and stay alone, or simply come back to the hotel and relax in our rooms. After the ride, I normally go for a swim and unwind in the steam room working on my breathing. Here you have the time to be alone and fully relax. You can go to the terrace and read a book, you can go for a walk, you can play tennis, you can have a nap, go to the gym, go for a massage… you chose! We then meet again for a dinner – it is totally up to you if you want to join. It’s an opportunity to have a chat about the day and share some positive reflections (and maybe have a nice glass of wine by a fireplace?).
Saturday evening, I suggest to have an early night as the next morning (Sunday), the plan is to jump on a bike again and watch the sunrise from the same place we explored earlier (5am!). I can not describe how majestic, energizing, fulfilling and stunning that morning is – you feel empowered waking up with the sun and the fresh morning air makes you truly alive. Not to mention the views (see the photos below).
After the morning ride watching the sunrise we come back to the hotel to have a relaxing time in the pool and steam room before we head off for a lovely breakfast on the terrace. By that time we should all be packed and ready to check out. Once packed, we need to leave the rooms, but we can still chill in the hotel for the rest of the day. I normally stay until lunch time to relax, read a book or have a walk around. After the lunch we take a taxi back to Egham station and head off to London – energized, fulfilled, empowered, happier, wiser.
As you can see, this is a very active, energizing, quiet and empowering weekend break. I’m sharing this, as I want more and more people to experience the same level of happiness and joy as I do when I go there. It may or may not be for you. I’ve committed myself to come here once a month, as I know how important it is for me in keeping a healthy life balance.
This idea has now turned into an exclusive Coaching Escape Weekend project, whereby you will not only be able to escape from your every-day life but also receive a professional coaching support, during and after the weekend.
